The Epiphone Les Paul Standard brings the iconic single-cutaway design and rich tonal heritage of the legendary Les Paul into an accessible package for players at every level. Built with a mahogany body topped with a maple veneer or AAA flamed maple top (depending on finish), this guitar delivers the warm, sustaining tone that has defined rock, blues, and jazz guitar for decades. The set mahogany neck with rosewood or laurel fingerboard provides smooth playability, while the classic LP body shape offers comfortable balance whether seated or standing with a strap. At the heart of the instrument sits a pair of Epiphone ProBucker humbuckers, engineered to replicate the vintage PAF humbucker tone that made the original Gibson Les Paul famous. These pickups deliver everything from creamy, sustained leads to crunchy rhythm tones, making the guitar equally at home in blues, classic rock, hard rock, and modern genres. Coupled with CTS-style potentiometers and an LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, the hardware ensures reliable tuning stability and efficient energy transfer for maximum sustain. Whether you're a beginner stepping up from a starter guitar or an experienced player seeking a dependable stage and studio instrument, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard offers exceptional value. It captures the look, feel, and sound of the Gibson original at a fraction of the price, making the legendary Les Paul experience available to a much wider range of guitarists without compromising core tone or build quality.
Customer reviews
I've played Gibsons before and honestly this Epiphone gets remarkably close in tone. The ProBucker pickups are warm and punchy, perfect for classic rock riffs.
Sounds fantastic and looks gorgeous, but I did have to swap out the tuners after a few months of regular gigging. Otherwise, no complaints.
Upgraded from a beginner pack guitar and the difference is night and day. Sustain for days and the neck feels amazing to play.
The weight took some getting used to, but the tone makes up for it. Excellent value for anyone wanting that Les Paul sound without breaking the bank.
