The Korg B2 is an entry-level 88-key digital piano designed for beginners and intermediate players who want authentic piano touch and tone without breaking the bank. At its core is Korg's Natural Weighted Hammer Action keybed, which simulates the graded resistance of an acoustic grand piano—heavier in the bass, lighter in the treble—so students build proper technique from day one. The flagship voice is Korg's acclaimed German Grand piano sample, taken from the company's high-end Kronos workstation, giving the B2 a surprisingly rich and nuanced tone for its price class. Beyond the core piano sound, the B2 offers 12 total voices including electric pianos, organs, strings, and harpsichord, all accessible through a simple control panel with no complicated menus to dig through. A built-in 15W x 2 speaker system delivers clear, room-filling sound, while dual and 4-hand modes make it easy for teachers and students to play together or split the keyboard into two equal ranges. USB-MIDI connectivity allows the B2 to interface with music software, apps, and educational tools, extending its usefulness well past a standalone instrument. Practical touches round out the package: a metronome for timing practice, key touch adjustment to match different playing styles, and song playback with 30 preloaded tunes for practice and demonstration. Available in both black and white finishes, and offered with an optional matching stand and three-pedal unit (B2SP), the Korg B2 is built to be a long-term home practice companion rather than a disposable starter keyboard.
Customer reviews
Bought this for my daughter starting lessons and the key action feels so much like our teacher's real piano. The German Grand sound is warm and full, way better than I expected at this price.
Solid build and the piano tone is lovely. Wish there were more voices and effects, but for practicing and casual playing it's more than enough.
No complicated menus, just turn it on and play. The speakers are decent for a bedroom setup. Added the optional stand and pedal unit and it looks like real furniture now.
I was skeptical about a budget 88-key piano having real hammer action, but this delivers. Great for daily practice and even recording simple parts via USB into my DAW.
