The Roland FP-30X is a compact 88-key digital piano that builds on the popular FP-30 with meaningful upgrades in sound and connectivity. At its core sits Roland's PHA-4 Standard keyboard action with escapement and ivory-feel keys, paired with the acclaimed SuperNATURAL Piano modeling engine that delivers rich, nuanced tone across the entire dynamic range. This combination gives pianists an authentic acoustic-piano playing experience whether practicing quietly at home or performing on stage. Beyond piano tones, the FP-30X includes 56 onboard sounds covering electric pianos, organs, strings, and other instruments, all accessible through Roland's Piano Every Day app for streamlined control via smartphone or tablet. Bluetooth MIDI and audio connectivity let players stream music from other devices directly through the built-in speakers, practice along with backing tracks, or connect to third-party learning apps for a more interactive practice routine. The upgraded stereo speaker system, now rated at 22W (11W x 2), delivers noticeably fuller and clearer sound compared to its predecessor, making it enjoyable to play without headphones or an amplifier. Designed for portability and versatility, the FP-30X works well as a primary instrument for beginners, a secondary keyboard for gigging musicians, or a practice tool for intermediate players wanting realistic piano feel without the size and cost of an upright. Optional matching stand and triple pedal unit allow it to be dressed up as a furniture-style piano, while its lightweight design keeps it easy to transport for lessons, rehearsals, or performances.
Customer reviews
The key action feels so much closer to my teacher's acoustic piano than I expected at this price point. The Bluetooth audio feature is a nice bonus for practicing along with songs.
Light enough to carry to rehearsals and the piano tone cuts through nicely. I wish it had a couple more onboard sounds, but overall very solid.
We bought this for our daughter starting piano lessons and it has been fantastic. The app pairing makes it easy for her to follow along with practice songs.
The piano tone itself is beautiful, but if you're playing for a larger room you'll definitely want external speakers. Otherwise, very happy with the purchase.
