The Yamaha Pacifica 112V is a workhorse electric guitar that has earned its reputation as one of the best value instruments in its class since its introduction. Built with a solid alder body and a bolt-on maple neck, it delivers the kind of tonal resonance and sustain typically found in guitars costing significantly more. The classic double-cutaway design offers comfortable access to the upper frets while maintaining the timeless aesthetic that guitarists have come to expect from a versatile electric. At the heart of the Pacifica 112V's appeal is its pickup configuration: a Yamaha-designed Alnico V single-coil in the middle and neck positions paired with a custom humbucker in the bridge. This setup, combined with a 5-way switch, allows players to move fluidly between glassy cleans, quacky in-between tones, and thick, driving rock crunch. Whether you're playing blues, funk, indie, or classic rock, the tonal palette covers an impressive amount of ground for a guitar at this price point. Designed and engineered in Yamaha's renowned facilities with input from professional session guitarists, the 112V benefits from meticulous attention to playability. The vintage-style tremolo bridge, smooth-rolling machine heads, and a slim, comfortable neck profile make it an excellent choice for beginners and experienced players alike who want a reliable, gig-ready instrument without breaking the bank.
Customer reviews
I've owned guitars three times the price of this one, and the Pacifica 112V holds its own. The tones are versatile and the neck feels amazing. Highly recommend for beginners and pros alike.
Bought this as my first electric and I'm blown away by the build quality. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I ended up swapping the pickups for something with more output.
This has been my gigging guitar for two years now. Stays in tune well, sounds great through any amp, and the finish has held up despite regular use.
Love the tone and feel, but I do have to retune more often than I'd like when using the tremolo aggressively. Otherwise a fantastic guitar for the money.
